Convert HEIC to PNG
Convert iPhone HEIC photos to PNG. Your browser decodes HEIC where it can, and a server with Imagick and libheif handles the rest.
Your browser does the conversion when it can decode the format; otherwise the file is sent to the server. The result tells you which happened.
Drop files here, choose them with the file picker, or paste an image from the clipboard.
Drop images here
Up to 40 files at once. PNG, JPG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, ICO, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and SVG. You can also click anywhere in this box, or paste an image from the clipboard.
PNG
This page converts to PNG.
Applies to JPG, WebP and AVIF output only. For PDF it sets the quality of the image placed on each page.
A PDF page has no transparency, so transparent areas are composited onto the background colour below.
Used only by "Fit the page to each picture", to work out how many points an inch is worth.
Leave empty to keep the current size.
JPG and PDF pages cannot store transparency, so transparent areas use this colour.
What changes when become PNG
HEIC decoding needs libheif. If your browser cannot read HEIC and this server has no Imagick build, the conversion cannot be completed.
The page reports which of the two handled your file instead of assuming.
Step by step
-
Add your files
Drop them onto the panel, use the file picker, or paste an image from the clipboard. You can add up to 40 files and convert them in one pass.
-
Set the PNG options
PNG is stored losslessly here, so there is no quality setting to choose. Add a width or height if you also want to resize, and pick what should happen when the proportions do not match.
-
Convert and download
Press Convert. Each file gets its own download button once it finishes, and with two or more finished files you can save them together as a ZIP archive.
Frequently asked questions
Is this HEIC to PNG converter free?
Yes. There is no account, no per-file charge and no daily limit. You can convert as many files as you need.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The tool runs in the page. Where your browser can do the work it does so directly; where it cannot, the server handles the conversion.
Is transparency preserved?
Yes. PNG stores an alpha channel, so transparent and partly transparent pixels survive the conversion.
Can I convert several files at once?
Yes, up to 40 files per batch, and you can download the results individually or together as a single ZIP archive.
Can I resize while converting?
Yes. Enter a width, a height, or both. If both are given and the proportions differ, choose whether to fit inside the box, fill it and crop, or stretch.
Is there a file size limit?
When the server performs the conversion, files up to 21.0 MB are accepted, and the server reports its own limits if a file exceeds them.

Does my image stay on my device?
A direct answer, because the honest one depends on the conversion. This explains which operations are local, which need the server, and how the tool tells you which was which.

What is a HEIC file, and why is it awkward?
iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. The format is better than JPG on almost every axis, and that is exactly why it causes trouble: support outside Apple devices is uneven.
